Particular emphasis is placed on the relationship between managerial functions ‒ planning, organization, motivation and control of ‒ in the process of ensuring national security.

In the center of the study ‒ the motivation of staff as a factor of stability, psychological endurance and professional effectiveness. Modern approaches to motivation in the field of security are considered, in particular the combination of material and intangible incentives, the development of a system of recognition, leadership focused on service, and psychological support. The authors compare Ukrainian realities with international experience, pointing to the need to adapt best practices to the national context. Special attention is paid to the challenges of war, digitalization and transformation of the nature of threats that require the introduction of innovative management decisions.
